X – The letter used to represent reactance.

XC – The letters used to represent capacitive reactance.

Xfmr – An abbreviation for transformer.

XL – The letters used to represent inductive reactance.

XLP – Cross-linked polyethylene – The most common type of insulation for underground primary distribution systems. The polyethylene compound is chemically cross linked. Heat is applied to harden the compound. The second common type of insulation is EPR, Ethylene Propylene Rubber.
