The glossary is designed for people who have attended one or more of the PTS classes. The classes are listed below.

EUSO –  Electric Utility System Operations
CAEDS – Customer Aspects of Electric Distribution Systems
EDS – Electric Distribution Systems
IESO – Industrial Electric System Operation
EUBO – Electric Utility Business Operations (NEW)

System Operator Classes – PTS is certified by NERC to provide classes for system operator certification. The topics in these classes vary depending on the interests of the system operators.

The parentheses following each definition identify in which class the material is covered. If the class is in bold, the subject is covered in the course manual. When not in bold, it is normally covered in the lecture and is possibly in the person’s notes. If the word “photo” appears, there will be a photograph of the item in the class manual. Terms with no class reference are usually only covered in class when a question related to the term is asked.
